Carbonaceous particles for electronic applications

Carbonaceous nanoparticles: modeling primary particle formation for electronic device applications

Context and Objectives

This thesis work involves the development, update and validation of the CRECK kinetic model for the formation of carbonaceous nanoparticles in flames, with applications in the area of synthesis of high-value materials in hydrocarbon flames and pollutant (soot) formation.

Methods and Tools

Calculation of kinetic constants using theoretical methods, kinetic modeling, and simulation of ideal reactors, premixed laminar flames, and backscatter with OpenSMOKE++.
